Based between England and Norway, musicians and artists Marlow Bevan and Milla Sunde are the masterminds behind TGC (The Green Children) moniker. Initially, the duo met whilst studying at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and signed a major U.S. recording contract with Universal Music Group in 2008. In 2010, the band parted ways with Universal and would soon after sign a worldwide distribution deal with Los Angeles-based Spinside Records, where they called home until forming their own imprint and entity for self-released material under the name Illuminated City.
‘Rooms’, the latest single by TGC is an immersive excursion through placid landscapes; warm tones, rolling synthesizers and solid electronic percussion atop vocalist Milla Sunde’s silken vocal presentation. Darkened yet beautiful chord progressions weave in and out amidst the duo’s eerily animated and atmospheric production, with the artistic lyric video, which you can view below, depicts haunting imagery of ghost infested homes, tombs, splatters and shivers.
Milla of TGC comments, on the latest single: “Rooms is a ghostly story about searching for someone who may not exist.“
